About Us

Yorkshire Association of Business Angels (YABA) is a unique regional forum which brings together the finance and expertise of Business Angels with entrepreneurs and their business ideas.

Where conventional financing often fails to serve the smaller, higher risk investment opportunities, Business Angels are now widely accepted as a vital source of funding.

Since its inception in 1995 and with support from Yorkshire Forward, the Regional Development Agency, since 2000, the YABA membership has grown steadily to over 170 Angel and Associate members.

The Association regularly holds investment forums at various venues throughout Yorkshire and Humberside to see entrepreneurs present their ideas to an audience of Business Angels, Associates and some of the most influential business leaders in the region.  Approximately 3 in 20 businesses receive investment following these forums, and this in turn often releases further funding from other institutions.

YABA's introduction service enables entrepreneurs to not only personally present their business at the forums, but also publish an executive summary on the secure login area of the YABA website.

YABA is non-profit-making, charging only a modest membership fee to Angels and a small administration charge to entrepreneurs and takes no commission whatsoever from any funds raised.
