Angel Membership Overview
Business angels are private individuals who invest their own money in return for shares in the investee company. They are able to offer business experience & skills at all levels but are generally not looking for a full-time role, however are prepared to give a few days per month to assist the business. Angels have a wealth of contacts and credibility in the marketplace and can often assist with the strategic planning for the business.
Yorkshire Association of Business Angels (YABA) is a membership organisation of private equity investors who seek opportunities to invest in new and existing businesses within the Yorkshire region. Since its inception in 1995 and with support from Yorkshire Forward, the Regional Development Agency since 2000, the YABA membership has grown steadily to over 190 angel and associate members.
Angel investor members of YABA are given exclusive access to the latest investment opportunities available in Yorkshire and the surrounding counties both online and face-to-face at our investment forums.

Generally sums of £10,000 to £250,000 are invested by individuals but quite often angels will form a syndicate with a lead angel negotiating the deal and assisting the company post-investment. Upon joining members are welcome to approach entrepreneurs direct to discuss potential investment, or if you prefer to invest as part of a syndicate we can actively help you get to know your fellow members by:
