Methods
Talk or Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation
The presentation will be loaded on the YABA laptop which uses Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition operating system and has Microsoft Office Professional Powerpoint 2003 and Windows Media Player Series 11
As a guideline us six slides with six bullet points per slide in minimum 24 font size
Do not use automatic slide transitions

Time Allowed
There will be up to ten companies presenting and therefore each will be given a strict 5 minutes
Audience
There will be between 80 and 100 people in the room consisting of 30-40 Business Angel investor members plus Associate corporate members, fellow presenters and guests.
 

Photographer
You may be requested to have a photograph taken for possible use in the YABA newsletter

Presentation Guidelines

The Goal To sell yourself and your business idea to a potential investor in order to obtain funding.
Consider your pitch from the investors’ point of view

Salient Points

The Company
The company name – presenters name(s)

Experience
Who you are – background – skills – responsibilities
Express your drive and determination / enthusiasm
Your existing / future management team – skills etc.

The Product
What is your product / service
Why you or your product / service are different (Unique Selling Point)
Is the product / service IP registered

The Market
What is your market – who are your customers & how are you going to reach them
Who is the competition / how big & what is your advantage
What is your marketing and sales strategy

The Sales
What is the selling price (retail / wholesale)
What are your margins
What are your current sales, if any (letters of intent)
What is the potential (sales forecast / breakeven / profitability)
Do you have a business plan available

The Future
How much funding do you need and what will you spend it on
What skills are you looking for from an investor (if any)
What’s in it for the investor – dividends / profit upon exit / fees
When and how can the investor get his return on the investment (exit strategy)

Marketing Material
A table will be provided for you to display products, prototypes and marketing material. This will be where the investors come to talk with you after the presentations. Bring Non-Disclosure agreements with you if you require these signing before handing over or sending the Business Plan.

Networking
Make the most of the time after the meeting to meet as many people as possible and make contacts, obtain introductions and advice.
The Angel investors will have blue name badges. An attendees list is provided in the meeting booklet.

Follow-up
Follow up all contacts promptly after the meeting and try to arrange one to one meetings. YABA can assist in facilitating syndicate meetings so please contact us.
