Made in Sheffield Awards Nominations Deadline Friday
Just six weeks remain to get your entries in for the Made in Sheffield Awards which celebrate excellence in manufacturing from the Sheffield city region.
Sheffield is the heartbeat of UK manufacturing and remains home to many of the world's most innovative engineering organisations. With both universities strong in engineering, an Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre and an unrivalled heritage in the steel industry, it is little wonder that Sheffield remains a vital player in the world of manufacturing.
Made In Sheffield is a brand associated with quality and one of the few city trademarks widely recognised throughout the world. The Made In Sheffield Mark is run by manufacturers and has taken on the role of developing the brand of Made In Sheffield to benefit the whole of the Sheffield City Region and in doing so to position the region as the first choice location for Industrial Design and Manufacture in Europe and the Commonwealth.
The Made In Sheffield Awards are a celebration of both manufacturers and manufacturing in the Sheffield City Region. The Awards will be made at a Gala Dinner in the Cutlers Hall on 22nd March 2012. The Awards will be judged by a panel of Manufacturers and represent regional recognition for all that "Made In Sheffield" embodies.
The Made in Sheffield Mark Initiative has over 150 Companies licensed to use the Mark in sectors as diverse as Steel and Sweets, Aerospace and Mining, Surgical and Safety Lamps.
