16 investment deals were completed in 15 companies during the period, including 6 second round funding deals. 10 companies were introduced by YABA and 6 were co-investments with the Viking Fund and Viking Club. In total 36 jobs were created/safeguarded due to investment by YABA Business Angels in the period 2008/09.
There was a marked increase in Angel membership enquiries since January 2009 and a record intake of 12 new members in the last quarter period having a conservative estimate of investment capital of £10m. 2008/09 saw 26 new Business Angel members and 9 new Associate (corporate) members.
